Why's everybody getting divorced????!
by homeschool inthis is insanity!
literally four couples that i know closely & personally have told me in the last two weeks that they are divorcing their spouses.
and there are a couple on here whom i've discovered are separating as well (these two i do not know personally, but i'm a little surprised & saddened regardless).

Has anyone Read the Five Love Languages of Love? It sounds a little Foo Foo, but its a really good book. Homeschool
I have and shared it with my kids. It has helped our relationship. For Fathers Day my girls papered the house with post-it notes, after their dad went to bed. They used a whole stack of them to leave messages of appreciation & thanks everywhere. He said it was the best ever! Love notes would be at the bottom of my list. I'd be sitting around giving him my full attention listening to him ( bored silly , trying to keep my eyes from rolling to the back of my head) without that book. The book has helped all of us except each others differences and demonstrate our love in a way that we each as an individual receives it best.
We have had a LOOOOOONG 30 years together, many ups & downs. There have been several times when we have spent months where the nearest thing to sex we have had is passing each other in the hall & murmering F&$% Y*@ . We eventually work through it & our marriage improves. It's hard , but don't expect it to be easy .We stick together because we don't believe it would be better to part. The working through of the problems has helped us to grow in many ways.

Crafts
by mrsjones5 inwhen i was growing up in the borg i didn't see much in the way of craftmaking except for a few who knew how to sew.
no one that i knew at any of the halls i went to knitted or crocheted or tatted or did much in the needle arts other than sewing.
i was introduced to knitting by a "worldly" woman who was my brother's nurse.. maybe this is just something i noticed and is limited to my borg experience.. josie.

I've done a lot of crafting, sewing, crocheting all my life. ( Also cooking , baking, canning, gardening and reading) I haven't had much time lately , but plan to start quilting again this summer.
I didn't see much handwork or any of the above, done by sisters, they were so different from my family & friends. They just went out in service and read diet books. There was a lack of woman culture for sure, very lonely.

During my time with the JW's there were 2 topics of conversation you could participate in without being critisized.
1. The ORG. , it's provitions, staying close to it, listening to the governing bady, staying close to Jehovah through the org, etc. yadayadayada.
2. Satan & the demons and all the warnings & stories .
Well they have replaced Jesus with the Org./FDS, rarely here about Christ. Now the governing body lords themselves above the annointed. They aren't leaving much to talk about.

I became depressed while a dub, but went to counciling. I was pushed to take AD's but refused. I was sent to the Psychiatrist for him to talk me into it. He agreed with me , I could still function to do what I needed to do & was not a threat to myself or anyone. The DR. told me it would be hard but I would get better quicker without the meds. It can take years or never depending on how much a person is on, even with counciling. His opinion was to not take ADs if you could get along without them.So back to counciling I went. I had group & private counciling. I made quick progress without the meds. During that time I began to spot "the look" of the medicated, & run into many brothers & sisters at the clinic. There were elders on the stuff, several brothers, & 1/3 the sisters in the 3 congregations in our area.No one else did I find getting counciling, just medication checks. This was over 10 years ago, I can't think it's better now.

Do all of you just Call him God now? has the Personal name of Jehovah just become a thing of the past?
I am only asking because this is something definite I notice with Christians, it either becomes all about Jesus or just God without a name?
Yes , when speeking about HIM I use GOD. When praying to HIM I use Heavenly Father, a very precious name for me to use. GOD has waited a long time & paid a great price, so I can enter into the relationship we have.Adoption often takes a great price & time to happen. The relationship is much more important than name.

My Project
by snowbird inok, maybe endeavor would be a better choice of words, but here goes.. this past year, both my daughters have given me some good smelling perfume - about 8 bottles, in fact.
it's too hot down here to wear perfume, so i've come up with what i hope is a good solution.. last saturday, i bought a corked container at the goodwill store for about $1.. i'm going to pry the atomizer off the bottles of perfume, pour the perfume into that container, and re-cork it.. when i take a bath, i will add a few drops of the perfume to my water, and i should emerge smelling like a rose!.

Sylvia, You can also put a few drops on a cloth or hanky and tuck them in your drawers (dresser), makes all your clothes smell nice.
1 drop of perfume , on a cold light bulb , when turned on will make your bedroom smell nice too.
